College Prep Program

I am pleased to announce that our 16th annual RinkSport College Prep Program will once again be held at the University of Rhode Island this June. This program has served thousands of top college prospects over the years, and we look forward to hosting another talented group of female student-athletes this summer. If you think you have what it takes to get to the next level, then we hope you will spend a week with us this summer!

Our focus is on providing you with the information you'll need to make the transition from Elite Club or High School hockey to a Varsity College program. Learn what it takes on and off the ice to go from a college 'prospect' to a 'recruit'. Learn about all of your options in college hockey and work with a talented college coaches to plan your strategy. Each day you'll be trained and coached as if you were a college player in a team setting, for up to 4 hours on-ice and 2 hours off-ice daily. In the evenings, your team will compete in a round-robin tournament concluding with a championship on the last day of the program.

URI features a modern on-campus arena near the historic city of Newport, RI. URI is only 25 minutes from Providence's T.F. Green Airport (PVD), and an easy drive from anywhere in New England, New York, or the Mid-Atlantic states. Also, there are over 25 colleges and universities with Varsity Women's Hockey programs within a 4-hour drive from campus, making college visits possible before or after the program. Last year over 50 college teams visited URI to scout players at the RinkSport program.

You've worked hard to get to this level, so make sure you have all the information you need to reach your goal. Our world-class staff is qualified to guide you through this critical part of your college search process, so if you are serious about playing college hockey, we hope to see you at RinkSport this summer!

This year we will be accepting players on a first come, first served basis. Keep in mind that there are limits on the number of players we can accept at each position. RinkSport complies with NCAA guidelines and therefore we do not 'invite' players into this program. The 2008 College Prep Program is open to any female ice hockey player entering grades 10-12 or PG'ing in Fall 2008.

NOTE: This program may not be suitable for all players. Those that are new to the game, that have not competed at a competitive level, who cannot handle the physical demands of a vigorous training program, or who are looking for a recreational camp should consider another program.
