RinkSport Hockey

We are pleased to announce that the 19th year of our College Development Program which will return to Babson College in Wellesley, MA from June 18-23, 2011.  

Our program has served thousands of college prospects over the years, and we can't wait to get started with another talented group of athletes this summer.

Program Overview

We focus on providing you with the information you'll need to make the transition from Elite Club or High School hockey to an NCAA Varsity program. You will learn what it takes, on and off the ice, to go from a college 'prospect' to a 'recruit'. You will also learn about your options in NCAA hockey and work closely with some of the games brightest and most talented coaches.  

Each day, you will be working in a team setting, participating in 3 hours of on-ice practices and games using NCAA rules and officials. You will also be working off the ice on the latest in strength and conditioning as well as a very comprehensive lecture series designed to address nearly every aspect of making the transition to a college student-athlete. 

In addition to the college coaches you will be working with daily, we typically see an additional 40 or so college programs scouting at this program each summer.  

Babson College

Babson College features a beautiful campus in the town of Wellesley, which is easily accessible from anywhere in New England, New York, or the Mid-Atlantic states.  If you are flying in for the program, we will provide transportation to and from Boston Logan Airport.  As there are over 30 Colleges and Universities that offer NCAA Varsity Women's Ice Hockey within a 4 hour drive from the Babson campus, it is easy to set up college visits either before or after the program.

We will be using Babson's on campus ice rink for games and practices and we may use other local ice rinks if needed.  We will also have full use of Babson's athletic facilities and lecture halls and all participants and staff will reside in the Babson College dorms and eat in the dining hall.  

Admission

RinkSport complies with NCAA guidelines and therefore, we cannot 'invite' players into this program.  The 2011 College Development Program is open to any female ice hockey player entering grades 10-12 (or PG'ing) in Fall 2011.  Please understand that there are limits on the number of players we can accept at each position. 

Note: This program may not be suitable for all players.  Those who cannot handle the physical demands of a vigorous training program, or are looking for a recreational camp, should consider other such programs.

Staff

Coaches selected to work in our program are some of the most accomplished in their field.  Players are assigned to a team with 2 college coaches in charge, but every player will work with every coach throughout the week.  Off the ice, coaches are freely accessible and are eager to talk to players.  Getting to know the coaches (and vice versa) is one of the most valuable aspects of our program!

Compliance

RinkSport must comply with regulations set forth by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and will be licensed by the Town of Wellesley's Board of Health.  Parents may request copies of background check, health care, and discipline policies as well as procedures for filing grievances by contacting Kush Sidhu, Director by email: kush@rinksport.com.
